I am Loving it!!

Its been some time now since i have moved away from windows for my day to day needs. first it was SuSE.. it was attractive, interesting.. but it wasn't the easiest of all. may be thats the reason i got hooked to it initially.

last week tried Ubuntu 9.04 - its sleek but good enough in terms of bundled apps, its cool, wonderful and most importantly it performs much better than SuSE and previous Ubuntus. It took me just two nights to get Ubuntu going from scatch unlike SuSE where it took me weeks and weeks to get my system completely up...

Jai Ho!!

While there are so many things being written about the first ever Oscar wins by an Indian, whose main forte is Bollywood, the Bollywood has not earned it per se. It had to piggyback on a Hollywood identity!

The record number of Oscar wins this year by Slumdog has proved a point that it’s easy for a Hollywood film to make impact than any other film. No matter the movie have all actors from Bollywood, the world acclaimed Hindi-Urdu poet who is a Bollywood songwriter has written the songs, the music director and the technicians are from the Bollywood and around. I am not saying that the movie is of the same standards that are made here in Bollywood. It’s superior than most (!not all) Bollywood films in many areas but music. Of course!

‘The Bollywood music’, as the world recognizes it, piggybacking on a Hollywood film has won the Oscar... At last!! It has earned its due. After small stints in movies like ‘’the Guru’, ‘The Inside Man’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’,  in coming years we should see many Hollywood movies taking abet from Bollywood music to express themselves in a big way!!
